How to pick Strawberries on our Farm
There are several methods to picking berries, but we have adapted a method that is logical, fairly easy and most effective at keeping the plants safe and our customers safe.
Please refer to the picture below as a reference.
1. Start at the red flag. One of the workers will guide you to a designated picking area and explain this process. 2. Start picking berries only at the red flag and pick on both sides of the cornstalk walkway heading away from the flag. 3. Do not pick just one side, do not pick one row of matted strawberries, do not step over the plants or on them. 4. Dig into the matted rows on each side of the walkway and pick the ripe strawberries. (inside the box drawn on the picture) 5. When you have enough berries, place the red flag at the place where you have stopped so the next customer can continue picking berries. (place the flag in the walkway, not in a matted strawberry row).
